How much does garden waste removal cost in Manchester?
As market guidance, man-and-van garden waste loads typically run £80–£450 across Greater Manchester depending on volume, weight, and access — a pile of hedge trimmings sits at the bottom of that range; a full garden clear-out with a shed takedown sits at the top. Use the instant quote for your exact fixed price.
Worth knowing: soil and rubble are priced on weight rather than volume, so flag them when you book. And unlike a skip, there's no permit, no week-long driveway squatter, and no loading it yourself.
Mixed pile of garden and household junk? Plain rubbish removal covers the lot in one collection.
What garden waste can you take?
If it came out of a garden, we can almost certainly shift it:
- Hedge and grass cuttings, branches, leaves, and brambles
- Old fence panels, posts, trellis, and decking
- Sheds and greenhouses — dismantled and cleared
- Soil, turf, and small amounts of rubble (priced on weight)
- Garden furniture, planters, broken BBQs, and rusty swings
Green waste goes for composting and timber for recycling — reuse and recycling come first, landfill last. We're a registered waste broker, every crew is a licensed waste carrier and fully insured, and every job gets a waste transfer note. Overgrown yards in Altrincham, jungle gardens in Rochdale — all in a day's work.
What we can't take on a standard collection: asbestos (old garage and shed roofs can hide it), chemicals and old paint, and Japanese knotweed, which is controlled waste that spreads and needs a licensed route of its own. If any of that is in the mix, leave it where it is and tell us on the contact page so we can steer you to the right specialist.
How does a garden clearance work?
- Price it online. Use the instant quote for a straightforward load, or send photos on WhatsApp if there's a shed or fencing to come down first.
- Pick a slot. Same-day where available, seven days a week, always with a 2-hour arrival window. Pay securely and the price is locked.
- We load it all. The crew brings the tools, takes down what needs taking down, loads loose piles straight from the borders, and rakes the ground through before they go.
- Sorted and documented. Green waste goes for composting, timber and metal for recycling, and you get a waste transfer note as proof it was handled properly.
Access shapes the plan more than anything: if the only way out is through the house or over a neighbour's shared entry, say so when you book and we'll bring sheeting and enough hands to keep it clean and quick.
How fast can you collect?
Same-day slots run across Greater Manchester seven days a week, and every booking gets a 2-hour arrival window. Council green bins are fortnightly and fill up after one hedge; we take the whole garden's worth in one visit and rake through before we leave.
Big clear-out, or a shed that needs taking down first? Submit the form and we'll send you our WhatsApp number — fire over a few photos of the garden and you'll get an exact fixed quote back fast, usually within 2 hours. If the house needs the same treatment as the garden, our house clearance crew can do both together.
Garden waste FAQs
Do you dismantle sheds and take down fencing?
Yes. We take down sheds, greenhouses (carefully), decking, and old fence panels and posts, then clear the lot in the same visit. Tell us roughly what is standing when you get your quote — a couple of photos over WhatsApp is perfect — and we will price the takedown and removal together.
Can you take soil, turf, and rubble?
Yes, but weight matters more than volume for soil and rubble, so mention it when you price the job. A few bags of soil is no problem; a whole regraded garden is a bigger conversation. Be straight about the amount and your fixed price will be right first time.
Where does the garden waste go?
Green waste is separated and sent for composting, wood and metal are recycled, and only genuine dregs go to landfill. Every collection is carried out by a licensed waste carrier and documented with a waste transfer note — your proof it was disposed of properly, not tipped in a country lane.
Do I need to bag the garden waste first?
No. Loose piles of hedge cuttings, branches, and leaves are fine — we bring the tools to load them and rake through when we are done. If it is already bagged, great, that speeds things up, but do not spend your weekend bagging on our account. We do the graft.
Can you collect from a back garden with no side access?
Usually, yes — it just means carrying waste through the house or over a shared access, so tell us when you book. We bring sheeting to protect floors on walk-throughs. Access affects the time the job takes, so being upfront about it keeps your fixed price accurate.
Can you take down an old asbestos garage or shed roof?
Not on a standard garden collection. Corrugated cement sheeting on older garages and sheds often contains asbestos, which is notifiable waste and has to be removed and disposed of by a licensed specialist. If you think a roof or panel might be asbestos, leave it in place and tell us through the contact page — we will point you to the right route rather than risk it.
Do you remove Japanese knotweed?
Knotweed is controlled waste and spreads from the smallest fragment, so it cannot go in with general garden waste — it needs a licensed carrier and a permitted facility. We do not treat or excavate knotweed, but we can talk you through the safe disposal route. If you are unsure whether a plant is knotweed, send a photo before anyone cuts it back.
Can you come back regularly through the growing season?
Yes. Some gardens generate more than a green bin can swallow all summer — hedges, grass, and prunings pile up fast. We can set up repeat visits through the season at a fixed price per collection, with a waste transfer note each time, so it never turns into a heap by the back gate.
